Pass The Mic! at Audubon Street Arts Fest

Long Wharf Theatre has the opportunity to share our stage with wonderful artists and storytellers in our region at the Audubon Street Arts Festival and we want you to come play!

PASS THE MIC!

Hosted by Sun Queen

Share a 3-minute micro-burst of creativity – a story, poem, song, monologue or dance.
Performances must be PG for this outdoor, all ages crowd.
(under 18 must be pre-registered by a guardian)

Register for a 3-minute performance slot on May 18, 2024, between 1:30  and 2:30 pm.

Walk-Ups welcome as time permits

Technical Support/Equipment Available:
2 wired microphones
2 direct inputs for instruments

Where: Audubon Arts District on Audubon Street
Meet us at the LWT table at 1pm to confirm your participation or sign up for an open slot.

3 FREE CREATION WORKSHOPSAlways wanted to perform at an open mic but don’t know where or how to start? Need help creating or rehearsing what you might want to share?

Jessica Durdock Moreno, Playwright and Teaching Artist from Long Wharf Theatre, will help you bring your idea for a story, poem, or monologue to life in a welcoming, fun introductory writing workshop. All are welcome (under 18 must be pre-registered by a guardian.)

Available workshops (Advanced registration required)

  • Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 at the New Haven Free Public Library – Stetson Branch, second floor (197 Dixwell Ave, New Haven)
  • Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30 at the New Haven Free Public Library – Stetson Branch, second floor (197 Dixwell Ave, New Haven)
  • Saturday, May 18 from 11:30 at the New Haven Arts Council Sandbox, (70 Audubon Street, second floor)
