Long Wharf Theatre Names Avery Anderson Director of Marketing and Communications

New Haven, CT – Long Wharf Theatre (Artistic Director Jacob G. Padrón and Managing
Director Kit Ingui) has named Avery Anderson (they/them) the new Director of Marketing and
Communications. They began their role on January 8.

Anderson is working in partnership with leadership to share Long Wharf Theatre’s innovative
story across media and to create accessible pathways to audiences that have not otherwise
been represented. In their role, Anderson will champion inclusion in all Long Wharf Theatre
materials, foster relationships in the community and invite new audiences to engage with
theatre.

Anderson brings a breadth of arts leadership experience and a skill set spanning brand
management, content marketing and arts administration. They previously served as Director of
Marketing and Communications at American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, Florida
where they orchestrated a rebranding and redesigned the pricing structure for the annual
outdoor production, resulting in unprecedented sales for the company.

Prior to their role at American Stage, Anderson worked as a television producer, winning a
Suncoast Emmy Award for producing “Warmer Worlds. Stronger Storms.” at WTSP-CBS in St.
Petersburg. They received a degree in communication and theatre from Metropolitan State
University of Denver.
