Vanessa Soto

Vanessa Soto is a New Haven native, attended Foote & Hopkins schools and graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Theater and Women & Gender Studies. She trained as an actor and theater director at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Theater Institute (NTI). She attended the Stanislavski Summer Program at ART where she had the honor to train with professors from Moscow Art Theater School (MATS). She also participated in the Lincoln Center Theater Director’s laboratory in 2007.

Locally, she worked as an actor and director with Bregamos Theater, Collective Consciousness Theater, as an actor and teaching artist with Elm Shakespeare Company, and a lead actor with Bated Breath Theatre.

For Long Wharf she was an Assistant Director on two productions in the late 2000’s and lead actor in Stage II’s "Swimming in the Shallows". After nearly a decade of living in Miami Beach, Vanessa returned to New Haven in the pandemic and came on board as Long Wharf’s Company Manager in August of 2022. Vanessa enjoys choral singing, is a yoga instructor at mActivity gym, and is an avid hiker.
