Get Involved

Long Wharf Theatre offers a variety of opportunities to become more involved in our productions, from post-show talks with the artistic staff to conversations in the community. We invite you to take advantage of all that Long Wharf has to offer!  Please make sure we have your e-mail address so you don’t miss out on anything!  Click here to be added to our invitation list.

Ushering
Volunteer ushers assist patrons during all performances in the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre and Stage II.  To volunteer, contact Molly Leona, Front of House Manager, at 203.772.8211 or molly.leona@longwharf.org.

Post-Show Discussions
Share your thoughts with fellow audience members in a conversation moderated by a member of our artistic staff, following almost all performances(does not include opening/closing performances).

Conversations with the Cast
Meet the stars of our stages in a post-performance conversation moderated by a member of our artistic staff, following most Tuesday night performances.

Sunday Symposium
Hear a panel of experts and artists discuss ideas related to the play and its themes, moderated by a member of Long Wharf Theatre’s artistic staff, following the third Sunday matinee of each production.

Backstage with Gordon
Join Long Wharf Theatre’s Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein before the performance as he discusses the creative process with directors, designers, and playwrights prior to Thursday previews, beginning at 7 p.m.

Partnership with the New Haven Free Public Library (NHFPL)
This partnership shares each organization’s resources in order to spark courageous conversations through the New Haven community.  For all six of Long Wharf’s productions the NHFPL will create a micro-branch in our lobby, allowing anyone with a Connecticut library card to borrow from a selection of books related to the themes of the plays while at the Theatre.  Long Wharf and the NHFPL will also jointly produce and present community conversations in Long Wharf’s two theatres and at the Library’s five city-wide branches that are inspired by the plays’ themes and led by civic leaders with particular expertise in the subjects.  This program is free of charge. Click here to receive notifications of upcoming community conversations.
